Perfect Your Smile With Professional Veneers From Beaverton Dentist
|Veneers are very thin pieces of durable, tooth shaped, porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory. Bonded onto the front of teeth, they create a beautiful and attractive smile. At locally-owned Waterhouse Family Dental in Beaverton, OR, our dentist and support staff can revamp your smile in-house with perfect, professional veneers, usually in only two visits. We also offer multiple financing options.
What Can Veneers Do For You?Veneers can completely reshape your teeth and your smile. Often, they can serve as effective alternatives to crowns. They're also the ideal solution for treating many cosmetic dental conditions, especially on front teeth. In some cases, veneers can even correct unwanted or uneven spaces between teeth.
Patients who are perfect candidates for veneers include those with:
• Crooked teeth
• Misshapen teeth
• Severely discolored or stained teeth (for visual correction beyond semi-permanent whitening
• Teeth that are too small
• Worn or chipped teeth.
Veneers offer the additional advantage of simultaneously resolving more than one of these conditions for many patients. Some even save weak or cracked teeth from replacement, since in some cases veneers can also act as durable, semi-permanent splints for compromised teeth. They may even help protect your teeth against decay.
How Long Do Veneers Last?Smile improvement with veneers from Waterhouse Family Dental is a very sound cosmetic dental investment. As a general rule - and given proper dental care and maintenance, of course - you can expect your veneers to endure beautifully up to ten years, and perhaps beyond.
As with most dental restorations, your veneers may someday need replacement. That said, the tested and proven durability of veneers means your new, beautiful smile is most likely to last for many years to come.
How Are Veneers Applied?Completing the application process for veneers at Waterhouse Family Dental usually requires two visits. During the first visit, we prepare the teeth to receive veneers by lightly buffing and shaping the surface(s) to compensate for the thickness of the veneer. We then take a mold, or impression of the teeth, after which you and your dentist choose a tooth shade (color).
On the second visit, we cleanse the teeth with special liquids in order to achieve a durable bond. We then place bonding cement between the tooth and veneer, and use a special light beam to harden and set the bond.
We will give you proper care instructions for your veneers. Daily brushing and flossing, plus regular dental visits, all aid in maintaining veneers and extending the life of your new, beautiful smile.
